Coastlines-Weekly Column on Natural History of Nova Scotia
Part-time Position
The Ecology Action Centre is looking for a part time coordinator to produce a
weekly article for its Coastlines column that is published in community
newspapers across Nova Scotia. The main role of the coordinator is to ensure
that a 350-400 word article and accompanying photo are emailed weekly to
community newspapers around the province. Topics of the column focus on coastal
wildlife, habitat, processes and resource use. The coordinator will write some
of the articles but will also enlist other authors to submit articles that the
coordinator will edit. This position involves some administrative work and
requires the ability to work independently.
If you are a good writer and have a passion for natural history and wonder why
everyone else doesn’t feel the way you do about nature this is the opportunity
for you. The column is read by Nova Scotians from Yarmouth to Cheticamp and
hopefully engenders curiousity in, and respect for nature.

pay $115 biweekly for the coordination of the column and $40 if you also write
