Strengthening the Roots: mobilizing for successful grassroots
strategies for social/environmental change

WHAT: a day long workshop for Halifax activists

WHEN: Saturday, June 11th between 1pm-7pm

WHERE: Council Chambers on the second floor of the Dalhousie Student
Union Building, 6136 University Ave, Halifax

COST: pay what you can

This Workshop Will HELP YOU to:

"    Identify new strategies to make sure YOUR campaigns are as
effective as they can be;

"     Reconnect with the inspiring vision that drives your work

"     Identify and deal with your top 3 “campaign problems”, develop
a foolproof system to make better use of your supporters and
volunteers (and get some if you ain’t got none)

"     Explore and share inspirational stories on successful
campaigns and programs;

"    Develop a proven, rock solid system for developing grassroots
support for all your initiatives


Your Facilitator:

The workshop will be hosted by Lindsay Telfer
(lindsay@sierraclub.ca), Grassroots Organizer with the Sierra Club
of Canada (www.sierraclub.ca).  Lindsay is co-founder of Energy
Action (www.energyaction.net) and was the National Director of the
Sierra Youth Coalition from 2002 to 2004.  Lindsay has a master’s
degree in Community Based Food Systems from the Faculty of
Environmental Studies at York University.  Lindsay has fundraised
over half a million dollars for organization’s she’s worked with in
just 2 years and is currently building a fundraising consulting
group to help support and build the capacity of under-serviced and
under-developed organizations.  Lindsay has facilitated workshops
 from political organizing to fundraising and healthy communities.
