Dec. 16, 2007 - Received an e-mail from Pam Paton who in QEH days was Pam Fraser. She was tipped off to our site by Beth Crosby (who we once knew as Beth MacNevin). Pam says she will try to get around to paraphrasing her life and send us her story. Perhaps, Beth, you could do the same. In the meantime you can check out Pam's website.

Nov. 17, 2007 - Welcome to Tim Schaus who has given in to several weeks of hectoring and provided a photo for the Then and Now section. I've also added two more old pictures to Memory Lane in the same section.

Nov. 15, 2007 - Thank you to Camber Muir who has provided his story for our Catching Up section. We're still waiting on a photo of Camber so we can add him to Then and Now. In the "small world" department Camber reports that his daughter and her boyfriend are good friends with Jim and Linda Stanley's son. I've added an old photo to the Memory Lane section of Then and Now and the Smith family curling team makes an appearance in our News and Views section.

Our 1971 QEH Music Poll has garnered a few more votes and now The Rolling Stones are tied with Led Zepplin and James Taylor. Why not cast your votes right now?

Nov. 12, 2007 - I've totaled up the votes so far on our 1971 QEH Music Poll and so far the Rolling Stones are in the lead. Why not tell us what you think? I've also made some slight additions to our Trackdown section.

Ever the businessman Clary Ottman suggests that "the opportunity to create, extend or recreate networks may entice others to participate (in our website). To business people, such as myself, networking is a tremendous, cost-free, intangible asset. Here would be a great opportunity to network."

Clary confesses, however, that what really caused him to check in was not a networking opportunity but, rather, my nasty comments about Canada Post. So, maybe if I insult everyone, we'll get a little more action.

Oct. 24, 2007 - Clary Ottman's update has arrived and is posted. I've also added Clary and Maureen to the Then and Now section. We also have some comments from Cathy Campbell about her trip to the World Cup in the News and Views section.

Oct. 22, 2007 - Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I also owe a huge apology to Canada Post for my snarky comments in our Trackdown section. They did, indeed, deliver my message to Clary Ottman and, not only that, we netted a bonus in the person of his wife Maureen Gordon, another class of 71er. Maureen has forwarded a photo and a write up (see the Catching Up section) and promises that Clary's will be along soon.

I've been underwhelmed by the trickle of responses to our music poll. It's amazing how two reactions to the same data can be so different. When putting the poll together I thought I'd ask for your 10 favourite songs instead of five but, when I looked the list over, I didn't think there were 10 decent songs in the lot. Meanwhile Debbie Sanschagrin looks at the same list and writes: "It was really hard to choose just 5. We had wonderful music!" Who's right? Fill out the poll and let us know!

Oct. 5, 2007 - Thank you to the Chebucto Community Net for giving us a new enlarged space for our webpage for free and gratis. That gives us more room for pictures so bring 'em on.

You out-of-towners may have missed the story on our old gym teacher Bobby Douglas who now has the gym at the new Citadel High School named after him. A link to the story is here. Bryan Wood has sent an obituary on Miss Marjorie Mador which is in our News and Views section. I've also included two more class pictures (courtesy of Susan Wenning) in our Then and Now section.

Sept. 28, 2007 - Another former classmate has checked in, David North has provided a photo and a write up for our Catching Up section. Welcome aboard, David. We are currently debating ideas for another get together before the weather gets too bad. If anyone has any ideas please let us know.

Sept. 23, 2007 - Today I made probably my last trip to the beach for the year. A few tosses of the frisbee, followed by a quick dip in the ocean and a pleasant picnic seem to have recharged my creative batteries. Or, perhaps, it was the trip in to see Raveen on Friday night in his absolutely, positively, final, farewell tour. (If they bring him back again he'll probably be embalmed- he might have been on Friday for all I know.) In any event I've been inspired to have a little fun with our website by posting the 1971 QEH Music Poll. It's your chance to pick the five songs that had you movin' and groovin' back when you were still able to move and groove. I'll post the totals after the results have rocked and rolled in. Click on the image at right to go to the poll.

Sept. 22, 2007 - Made contact with Charles Nauss through his website and he has provided a note for our Catching Up section. Charles says "I have so many memories of students and teachers and events that were 'different' in their own way. Do you remember invading St. Pats the year they spray painted Lenny the Lion green and the rumbles on the Wanders Grounds at half time during football games? Did you ever visit the 'secret room' below the auditorium with the female students? So many memories...Thanks for making me remember!" I also added a link to a story involving Ted Migas in our "News and Views" section.

Sept. 15, 2007 - Thanks to Martin Felsky who heeded our recent call and provided some information for our Catching Up section. Thanks also to Susan Wenning who has provided a couple of class pictures. I'm running out of photo room so I'm going to try and negotiate some more space from Chebucto before I can post them. I also posted a bit more in our Trackdown section.

Sept. 12, 2007 - We've added some information to our Trackdown and News and Views sections.

Aug. 29, 2007 - I've added Ted Sutcliffe to our Trackdown section and Bryan Wood has another report for our News and Views section.

Aug. 28, 2007 - I got a tour of the new Citadel High School yesterday. It's scheduled to open next week as the replacement school for QEH and St. Pat's. I've posted some photos here.

Aug. 21, 2007 - We're proud to add Martin Felsky, the other co-editor of the 1971 Elizabethan, to the Then and Now section. Martin advises us that on the left side of the dancing photo below that's him dancing with Brenda Myers. I've also added names to the Tower Road School picture. If I've spelled somebody's name wrong please let me know.

Aug. 20, 2007 - We've added Doug Stuewe to our Then and Now section. Doug and Bryan Wood have both provided some information for our News and Views section.

Linda Palmer and Jim Stanley at
the QEH prom, 1971.
Aug. 18, 2007 - Still dancing after all these years, we welcome Linda Palmer (now Linda Stanley) and husband Jim to our Then and Now section. We owe a special debt to Jim whose function as co-editor of the 1971 QEH Yearbook has preserved so many memories for us. Jim's own gentle recall of the yearbook is "damn thing almost caused me to fail that final year!" We also present the Saga of Sam Fried in our Catching Up section.

Aug. 16, 2007 - Bryan Wood has supplied some more information for our Trackdown section and we welcome Ted Mussett to our Then and Now section.

Aug. 15, 2007 - Input required-- Old-fashioned me was using just single and married for personal status. Nowadays there are many more possibilities. If you want to be listed as divorced or whatever, let me know. My kids are on Facebook and "in a relationship" is a popular phrase there. I'll leave it to you to describe yourself however you wish.

Aug. 14, 2007 - I've added Cathy Campbell to the Then and Now section and to the Catching Up section. Also added Debbie Sanschagrin to the Catching Up section.

Aug. 7, 2007 - I've added Gary Sellon to the Then and Now section.

Aug. 5, 2007 - I've added Gordon Harrington to the Then and Now section and he has provided some information for the Catching Up section.

Aug. 4, 2007 - I've added Greg Snow to the Then and Now section as well as a couple of class photos. I've activated the Trackdown section. So far only one person has asked to me to activate their e-mail address on the Then and Now section. If you want to get e-mails directly from people looking at the website you need to tell me. I welcome any input on the activities of classmates or more photos.

July 31, 2007 - I've added the Then and Now photos and a bit on a couple of the other categories. We also got a note from Doug Stuewe (see Catching Up section).
