GAUNT, Toni Jane

GAUNT, Toni Jane — Halifax and Mexico. It is with great sadness that the family of Toni Jane Gaunt announces her passing on August 30, 2011, in San Antonio Tlapyacapan, Mexico, after a brief illness.

Toni was born in England and moved with her family to Halifax in 1954. She had a natural talent for interior decorating and worked for a number of years at Bombay Company. She gained a reputation for her flair and enjoyed providing guidance to her many friends when they were decorating. She also worked at Canada Trust and Mount Saint Vincent.

Toni leaves behind her son, Adam Parsons (Jen Pilon) and daughter, Tamara Davidson (Bradley); grandchildren, Briana, Addison, Elyse and Jane; sisters, Jackie and Lorely; brother, Geoffrey; several nieces and nephews; and friend, Linda Smith. She was predeceased by her estranged husband, Curtis; parents, Marjorie Joyce and Albert John, and brother, John.

Toni enjoyed living in Mexico the last few years of her life with her two cats, beautiful backyard with lime and mango trees, and gardening year round. If you visited her, inevitably she would be found with a book in one hand and a Margarita in the other just sitting back enjoying the beautiful Mexican sun. Gardening and reading were two of life's pleasures. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place in Mexico.
