We had 11 Corvettes go to Yarmouth on Sept 4 & 5th. Debbie and I , Sean & Linda, Barry & Debbie, Brian & Gloria, Orrie, Dave & Dorothy, Calvin & Linda and Karl & Juanita met at Wheaton's, Sackville and after a small chat we were headed for Bear River, along the way Rick joined us. The drive to Bear River started like most of our events this year with a shower or two, just as we got to Bear River the showers stopped and we had great weather the rest of the trip. Ross & Carla met us at Bear River. If you never been Bear River before it is a small little town, very beautiful, but you would have to wonder why did they built the town on stilts, Bear River is a Historic Tidal village on stilts. After an hour to take a look at the craft shops we headed for downtown Digby to eat at the Fundy Restaurant, this is a beautiful location right on the water front. After dinner we headed straight for Yarmouth as our hosts Chris & Frieda was waiting for us. Chris & Frieda were on the outskirts of Yarmouth waiting to escort us to a self- serve car wash. After we got our cars looking like Vettes, we went down to the waterfront to park. Chris & Frieda had a goodie bag for everyone, in our bag we had 2 CD's a little FM radio, note book, leather on the area and a pin of the lighthouse, plus a coupon for 15% off two of the shops downtown including the Christmas Shop. I bet we spent two hours shopping downtown, and I know the club sure helped the businesses downtown, especially the Christmas Shop. After our shopping spree we booked into the El Rancho Motel, what an awesome view of Lake Milo. After we booked into the motel, Chris & Frieda had us over to their house for a BBQ supper. We had Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and Salad, pop and a surprise birthday cake for Debbie. What a great way to end the day. Chris & Frieda had 3 door prizes to give away at the BBQ. Thank-you Chris & Frieda for being such great hosts. The next morning, Chris & Frieda met us at the Wilson's Family Restaurant for breakfast and then escorted us to the lighthouse for some great views of the Lighthouse and the harbour. Our way home we had sunshine all the way, which made the lighthouse route even better. We stopped for a little break in Barrington Passage, We stopped at Quarterdeck by White Point beach for dinner the food was very good and the view was great.
