I recently found this Playstation joystick controller at a local thrift shop for about $5; it is called the "Commanding Player". It was designed and distributed by a local Edmonton company, Simple Jet Technology, ca. 2000. Unfortunately it is no longer available for sale from this firm.

It is very solidly built; the base is actually made of a thin steel plate! This is the only used Playstation controller I have found that was still in working order. It appears to be fairly rare as I was unable to locate any information online about this particular controller.

The Commanding Player appears to work with any game that does not require analog controls, but it is best suited for classic arcade emulations, such as the Namco Museum series. Pac-Man is so much more fun with a joystick than a D-pad.
