Feb. 4, 1954 Oxford Journal:

The death of a well known resident, Warren S. Webb occurred at his home, 4 Terrace Street, early Monday evening, Jan. 25th, following two years of failing health. He had only been confined to his bed for the past week. The late Mr. Webb was 77 years of age, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John P. Webb of Westchester. He was born there and made his home there for many years, both farming and doing carpentry work in that district.

In 1912 he came to Amherst and built his home. He spent a number of years in Tidnish as Farm Manager for the late Sen. Nathaniel Curry, returning to reside in Amherst in 1934.
He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Surviving him are his wife, the former Allie Lynds of North River, Colchester County, three daughters, Georgie (Mrs. Theodore Yankee) of Franklin, Mass.; Viola (Mrs. Donald W. Smith) of Stueban, Me.; and Wanita (Mrs. Carl Embree) of Lorneville; one son, Laurie at home, nine grandchildren, one brother, Rev. T.M. Webb of Moncton and two sisters, Mrs. Vernon S. Ogilvie of Amherst and Mrs. J.C. Tuttle of Providence, R.I.

The funeral was held Wednesday, Jan. 27, from the First Baptist Church, Amherst, following a short private service at the home. The service was conducted by the Rev. H.K. Grimmer, who delivered a fitting and comforting address to the many relatives and friends attending.
Members of the First Baptist Choir led in the singing of the hymns: "By Cool Siloam" and "Unto the Hills". A solo, "Beyond the Sunset", was beautifully rendered by Wilfred Lusby.
Honorary pallbearers were: Vernon S. Ogilvie, E.T. Hunter, Bamford Brown, Charles Cole, George Chapman, Walter Embree, Edgar Purdy, Rankin Lynds.
The active pallbearers were: Glen Webb, Ronald Webb, Kenneth Webb, Lonnie Fahey, Warren Lynds, Stewart Lynds.

NOTE: He is listed as Warren J. Webb in his marriage record and in the obituary for his son.
