The History or Mr. Falcon

Mr. Falcon started off way back around 1989. I was about 10 or 11. The family had gotten a video camera. Of course, being kids, my brother and I would make little home movies. I wanted to make one with a plot, longer than about 3 minutes. And that was the year Batman came out. So, with my brothers help we came up with a super hero, a plot, porps, the wholy bit and made Mr. Falcon, the movie. I ended up showing it to my grade 6 class upon request of the teacher. It was such a hit, the teacher of the other grade 6 class asked if I would show it to their class, so I did. And the legend began.

Several years went by, and nothing ever happened. A few remakes of the movie were started, but never finnished. Then, when I was 15 I got a few really old books on programming in BASIC. I started working out of those. Again, I'd be starting to write games, but never finnished any. Most of the games were text-mode Star Trek type games. I never finnished any of them. That was frustrating, never finnishing. I was determined to finnish something, so I brought out the idea of Mr. Falcon the game. So I wrote it. It took me about a week to write. I brought it to school. My friends seemed to really enjoy it. So I wrote Mr. Falcon 2. (I thought Mr. Falcon 2 was way better than Mr. Falcon 1, but my friends didn't see much of a difference.)

I thought Mr. Falcon 2 had much better graphics. Mr. Falcon could actually turn around. The different screens actually looked different. But there was only one bad guy, so I came up with Mr. Falcon 3. It used the same library as Mr. Falcon 2, but the map was 3D, and there were more villians. There was an order in which to procede to beat the game. I passed a trimmed down version into the teacher for my final project in Computer Related Studies. (Actually, despite the fact the code was at least twice as long as the max. code length, and the game didn't fit into the specs defined by the teacher, he _insisted_ I pass it in as my project. I never did get a mark for it. I suspect he just had fun playing it.)
