Hi Sue I too would like to read some more Cornish culture.  I was in 
Cornwall last March visiting my cousins and I really did want to leave 
and miss it awfully. Here is a recipe that was my grandma's for Yeast 
Buns......yummmm!!!

1 oze yeast
1/4 pint warm milk
2 ozes lard
1 level teaspoon salt
4 ozes currants
1 lb plain flour
2 ozes sugar

Mix fat, flour, salt and sugar together by rubbing in.
Add currants and yeast mixture then knead all together with warm milk 
and let it rise to twice its size.
Then make little sound buns and let rise again.
Bake for 20 - 25 minutes in medium oven (400 deg. F. )
