" KINDRED SOUL "

As we travel through life, we are blessed with a few
special occasions when our path crosses that of another
kindred spirit. One who, even on the first meeting, we
are drawn to as though we have known each other forever.
However, our time together may be brief.

In fact, we might be granted only a quick glance into each
other's eyes. Or perhaps we seize the opportunity to
exchange a passing comment. Or, if we are lucky, we are given the chance to share a short conversation.

Yet, in these brief but very special moments, we strangely
share many deep and strong emotions:

- the warmth of total acceptance,

- the surprise of instant understanding,
... and of being understood,

- the openness of trust and caring,

- and the unnatural sensation that time has stood still.

Ah, if only we could put time on hold a bit longer. If we
could linger in this state where the only reality that
matters is that nothing else matters.

But time only stops for an instant, and then it moves on.
And once again the momentum of our separate lives rudely
pulls our paths apart.

And, too soon, here we are ... alone again. Alone with
our busy lives. Alone with our frequent acquaintances.
Alone with our dreams of what might have been.

At the end of our day, even at the end of our life, which
shall we value the most? Will it be our usual day-to-day
existence, the busyness that consumed our lives, the crowd
around us who never truly cared? Or will we cherish those
few kindred spirits and the brief encounters we had? Will
we regret having let them slip away, and wish that we
could turn back the clock and cry out,

YOU MEAN SO MUCH to ME......

"Wait, I love you!"
