" Best of 2000 "


I've been on-air with this show for a little over a year, and since I've been in control of the show (and even when I was just helping out) I went a little nuts picking up new recordings. And so, my Best of 2000 special isn't just albums produced in the year 2000, it involved recordings I picked up second-hand or from flea markets or anything. I looked at my ten favourite new recordings from the year and it really wasn't hard to narrow it down to ten. These are all albums that I devoured as soon as I'd bought them, fell instantly in love with, and in many cases dedicated an entire week's episode just to the single album.

Also, it was SOCAN monitoring at CKDU, where Canadian songwriters get money for each of their songs played on-air, and so in the background I played " Overture " and " Wond'rin' " from the home-grown musical Anne of Green Gables today.
