Our 3 bedroom Cozy Cottage is located in the village of Northport, Nova Scotia, along scenic route 366 of the Northumberland Strait, approximately  45 kms from Amherst.
Amherst is the first Nova Scotia town you'll encounter heading east on the Trans-Canada highway upon entering Nova Scotia. Amherst is the terminus for both Route 6 (to the north) and Route 2 (to the south). It's about 40 minutes east of Moncton, and a stop on the VIA Rail (tel. 800/561-3949 in the U.S., or 888/842-7245 in Canada) train between Montreal and Halifax.

Our three bedroom cottage is available for rent during June, July, August and September, and is booked on a weekly basis: Sunday to Sunday. Our cottage is not wheel chair accessible!

Visitor Information
The huge Nova Scotia Visitor Information Center (tel. 902-667-8429) is on Amherst's western edge, just off Exit 1 of the Trans-Canada Highway. In addition to the usual vast library of brochures and pamphlets, there's an ice-cream stand, videos, helpful staff in uniforms, extraordinary views across the usually windy marsh, and often a bagpiper providing the appropriate mood out in front. It's open from May to the end of October. During peak season it's open 8 am to 9pm; limited hours during the colder seasons. A portion of the center includes washrooms, vending machines, and phones and is open 24 hours a day in summer.

Just east of the provincial visitor center is the Amherst Visitor Information Center (tel. 902-667-0696), housed in a handsome 1905 rail car. It's a good bet for more detailed information on activities in the immediate area. It's open late May to early September daily from 10 am to 6pm.
