Throughout the years, nature has provided us with wonderful examples of migration, endurance and love.

The Monarch Butterfly is a perfect example to compare to the Leslie Family.

Every winter, this tiny creature, travels approximately 1,800 miles (2,900 km) from Canada to Mexico, to reunite in a Sanctuary where it all began.. They fly only by day, covering a distance of 80 miles per day, enduring terrible storms, predators and above all, fatigue. But they have only one goal, and that is to get to their destiny. No one knows how they pass this information from generation to generation, but it has been proven that they make this trip twice in their life span.

Our ancestors also migrated from Scotland, traveling thousands of miles, to later establish their families in three very important cities: St. Louis, Missouri, Memphis, Tennessee and Cincinnati, Ohio, also enduring terrible storms, sickness, hunger, fatigue, and even death. But they also had one goal in mind, a better life for them and their families.

Today, several generations of the Leslie Family have also travelled thousands of miles from Canada, United States and Mexico and have reunited here in St. Louis, Missouri, for the first time, where part of our history began. We also have one goal in mind; to get to know each other better and hopefully create the desire in future generations, to keep in contact and maintain the family ties alive, since the most important thing in our life is the family.

My husband, children, grandchildren, and I, dedicate this album to you, our dear family and hope you enjoy reading through it, not only to find yourself within it, but to learn more about our history.

We certainly had a wonderful time and a lot of fun putting it together for you.

With all our love,

The Fernandez Family
