who got them drunk and then cast them out of Heaven.
Proud, angry, warlike, quarrelsome, deceitful
- the Asuras associate with storms, meteors, earthquakes etc.

There is a wish-granting tree,
which flowers in the deva realms higher up Mount Meru,
but whose roots are in the Asura realm.
Unable to have their wishes granted
or to storm the deva realms
- they try to chop it down.
