Council Minutes- Municipality of the District of Lunenburg

Councillor Zwicker reported that yesterday the Recreation/Community Development Focus Group discussed the letter from The Sperry’s Beach Committee with the Municipality’s Recreation Coordinator Carroll Randall and Councillor Dempsey.

The Focus Group feels that, until such time as the land issue regarding Sperry’s Beach is resolved between Mr. Himmelman and the Department of Natural Resources and whoever else may be involved, the Municipality does not have a role to play in this at this time. Once that issue is resolved, further discussions can then be entered into. A response indicating that should go to The Sperry’s Beach Committee.

Moved by Councillor Zwicker, seconded by Councillor Dempsey that a letter be written from Council to The Sperry’s Beach Committee outlining the position of the Municipality in reference to the two Action items in their letter dated August 6, 2004.
