Metro Community Access Network Society
Board of Directors meeting
October 10, 1995

Attending: Kevin N., Renee D., Bernie H., Joan M.,Joan
BH., Gary F., Peter H.

Gary opened by announcing that there are two new PAT's
open at Northwood and Sir Thompson Manors. It was agreed
that we should have guides, both online and printed, to
where the PAT's are located.

Policy on Information Ctee.:Peter requests that the
current user agreement be placed online so that it can
be used for reference purposes. They also plan to put
examples after clauses in the agreement to put some
spirit with the words.

Committee on Economic Development: CCN will have 10
minutes on Thursday Oct. 12, at 8am. NSFCN and CBNet
will also attend.

Membership: We should plan a forum for five weeks hence.
There will be 2 issues: commerce and resource allocation.

ACTION: Joan M. will poll the membership to find a
facilitator. It will be planned for the north branch of
the library.

ACTION: There was plenty of discussion which Peter H.
volunteered to summarize and present to the board list as
a draft policy based on David T.'s note on priorities.

ACTION: Peter H. will have 4 interviews done and 1 or 2
directors chosen for next meeting.

Strategic sessions:

First will take place on Oct. 24 from 5-9pm, and will
address resource allocation.

ACTION: Kevin will contact Hugh to see if we can use
Summit place for this meeting. Second choice will be
Dal. The second strategic session is tentatively
scheduled for November 7.

ACTION: The forum (Scheduled for Nov. 14) will be in
November's Board Notes section of the Newsletter.

There was also some discussion of a GUI pilot which, it
was agreed, is too much trouble for the time being.

"All truth progresses through three stages:
- First it is ridiculed...
- then it is violently opposed...
- finally, it is accepted as self evident."
