Institute of Noetic Sciences
http://www.noetic.org/

The Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), founded in 1973, is a  research foundation, an educational institution, and a membership organization with more than 50,000 members  around the world.  The noetic sciences study the mind and its diverse ways of knowing in a truly interdisciplinary fashion --Adapted from the IONS website--(One of the founders of IONS was Willis Harman who passed away in the summer of  1997 - a great and  prolific thinker, researcher, academic, writer and crusader for systemic change).

Research Program of IONS
http://www.noetic.org/research.html

"At this unique moment in history, our societal problems are large. So must be our search for solutions. Raising fundamental questions about the apparently complementary relationship between subjective and objective worlds is leading to new paradigms for understanding ourselves and our place within the universe. Exploring this new frontier of consciousness, with rigor and discernment, is the goal of The Institute of Noetic Sciences."  --From the IONS Website--

Club of Budapest

An informal association of creative people in diverse fields....  dedicated to the proposition that: Only by changing ourselves can we change our world; To change ourselves we must deepen our thinking and extend our horizons We must revolutionize our consciousness! The revolution of today's consciousness is perhaps the last, and  certainly the best hope for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world.

Ken Wilber : Writings on Human Consciousness
http://www.newciv.org/ISSS_Primer/seminar.htm
Adapted for fair use from:
http://www.noetic.org/kenwilber.html
Wilber reviews the entire spectrum of current research into human consciousness in twelve different fields which he summarizes as the hard empirical scientific approaches, softer and very soft approaches. The  "harder" views including cognitive science, neuropsychology, and clinical psychiatry shade into a softer range of approaches that begin to give a substantial weight to interiority and consciousness-including psychosomatic medicine, quantum approaches, individual psychotherapy, developmental psychology, and social psychology. And these shade into the "very soft" approaches that stress the fundamental priority of consciousness itself, especially as disclosed in subtle energies, nonordinary states, and contemplative endeavors." --Adapted from ISSI seminar--

No Boundary Excerpt
"That all opposites - such as mass and energy, subject and object, life and death - are so much each other that they are perfectly inseparable, still strikes most of us as hard to believe. But this is only because we accept as real the boundary line between the opposites. To put it plainly, to say that "ultimate reality is a unity of opposites" is actually to say that in ultimate reality there are no boundaries. Anywhere. For boundary lines, of any type, are never found in the real world itself, but only in the imagination of the mapmakers."   --Summary from ISSS Website--

Translation and Transformation by Ken Wilber
http://www.newciv.org/ISSS_Primer/seminar.html

Transformative spirituality does not seek to bolster or legitimate any present worldview at all, but rather to provide true authenticity by shattering what the world takes as legitimate."  --Summary from ISSS Website--

1996 ISSS Keynote Address by Willis Harman
http://www.newciv.org/ISSS_Primer/seminar.html

"The implications of research on consciousness ... suggest interconnection at a level that has yet to be fully recognized by Western science, and throw into doubt the pervasive conception of a world dominated by competition. The ontological stance of the universe as holarchy appears to have great promise as the basis for an extended science in which consciousness-related phenomena are no longer anomalies, but keys to a  deeper understanding; a science that transcends and includes the science we have."   --Summary from ISSS website--

Gaiamind Project Website
http://www.gaiamind.com/

Visually compelling site which serves as a useful example of  the potential of  global linking of like minds. The site was dedicated to bringing together like minds on January 23rd, 1997 when  there was an exceedingly rare and unique planetary alignment.  The site which remains also has an essay on Teilhard de Chardin and references to his writings and is  worth visiting to gain an appreciation of the potential of the internet for uniting global consciousness and the striking visual of the planetary alignment which was the genesis of the Gaiamind Project.
A related site which is dedicated to global harmony through global mind or Gaiamind related concepts can be found at: Global Visions: (Link from Elisabet Sahtouris Life Web Site).

Gaia in Greek Mythology
http://www.ion.com.au/ourplanet/greeks2.html
Visually beautiful website which emphasizes the recognition  of Gaia again as the return of the feminine principle again- "Now the pendulum is swinging back to the re-emergence of the feminine principle and balance, where Demeter, Venus, Selene,  Artemis,  Aphrodite,  Athene,  to Quan Yin Isis, Ishtar and Durga  all the way to the Virgin Mary are becoming important again in the collective planetary consciousness."

Peter Russel: From Immanence to Transcendence:  The Missing Link & Creative Evolution
http://www.ion.com.au/ourplanet/immanence.html
"This website and its content were inspired by Cambridge-educated physicist and psychologist, Peter Russell whose "Awakening Earth - Global Brain"  is based on the scientific  premise of a life of  ever-expanding complexity but with a proportionately increasing unity as ever-larger numbers become intricately greater wholes."

Chaos Theory and Space-Time Patterns
http://thales.vismath.org/webometry/articles/prague3.html

Address by  Ralph Abraham, Prague Castle, 20 November 1996 at a Conference of  the Council of Europe. In this paper Ralph Abraham,  known as the father of chaos theory, explains his project Operation Webwatch in which he uses chaos theory and fractal geometry to  make images of the world Wide Web which is viewed as a neural net the process of which can be viewed as the neurogenesis of the new cultural ecology now emerging. Here we see parallels with Teilhard's noosphere, and Russel's Global Brain decried in other sites documented above.

Richard Tarnas: Epilogue from  The Passion of the Western Mind
http://www.well.com/user/davidu/tarnas.html

Epilogue from  The Passion of the Western Mind: Understanding the Ideas that Have Shaped Our World View by Richard Tarnas.

The Epilogue is devoted to revealing the intellectual roots of the consciousness shift occurring in our civilization at this time.  The final words of Tarnas: "But why has the pervasive masculinity of the Western intellectual and spiritual tradition suddenly become so apparent to us today, while it remained so invisible to almost every previous generation? I believe this is occurring only now because, as Hegel suggested, a civilization cannot become conscious of itself, cannot recognize its own significance, until it is so mature that it is approaching its own death.  Today we are experiencing something that looks very much like the death of modern man, indeed that looks very much like the death of Western man. Perhaps the end of "man" himself is at hand. But man is not a goal. Man is something that must be overcome--and fulfilled, in the embrace of the feminine. "   --Excerpted from the above Website--
