Note re the Lamonds: Sarah E. and Mary were sisters. They were related to the Giant (MacAskill) on their mother's side. Elizabeth was their cousin. The Lamonds were from the Halfway Road in Sydney Mines. They used to say "The Brown boys had to go Halfway to get their wives".
