Garland Ashton Miles was born 16th March 1917 Grand Bruit, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Flew with my grandfather Thomas Latham in the RAF in Halifax Bombers with 76 and 462 Sqaudrons. | Parents were possibly William and Ellen. She married John Leander Judson McKenna from Queens Co, NS and they raised 8 kids in Queens Co. I think they were married in 1851 in St John's ---BUT--- it does not seem that we have the marriage records for the Catholic churches in that place and year. | Hi all So, I have an Annie Spurrell marrying George Cocarell in St. John's in 1908. They and their children appear on the 1921 Census, in St. John's, the family is listed as George and Annie Cochrane. So a surname change for George...Annie says she was born Trinity. Their children have the Cochrane last name on the 1921, 1935, 1945. George dies in 1928 in St. John's. The children appear living together in 1935 but I cannot find any sign of their mother Annie... | In the obituary for her brother Israel Janes 1923 - 2010 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, his sister Beatrice was listed as Beatrice Mackley, predeceased. Beatrice was the daughter of Israel Janes sr. and Jessie. Israel and Jessie are in the 1911 Sydney census with children - Nathaniel, Walter, Llewellyn and Violet Mary. I do not know the birth or death dates for Ralph or Beatrice, but she was most likely born between 1911 and 1925. Any information on Ralph and Beatrice would be appreciated. |
