Relative Pathnames in Hypertext Links

If you want to link to a file which is in a subdirectory, you can specify the relative pathname in the link.

In this example, the list of favourite foods is in the subdirectory test.

Have a look at the HTML source code by pressing the \ key. You can see that the anchor tag includes the subdirectory name in the pathname.

Follow the link. Once you get to the list of favourite foods, use the = key to look at the file location, to verify that it is in the subdirectory "test".

Note that you can include any relative pathname in the href attribute, not just ones which reference a subdirectory.
