TITLE: "FCFA project of taking over the information technologies: an experience in community partnerships."

ABSTRACT:

The CEFRIO (Francophone Research Centre in Automation of Organizations) and the FCFA (Federation of Francophone and Acadian Communities of Canada) have a joint project called "Taking over the information technologies: an experience in community partnerships". Funded under the Program for Financial Support between the Francophone and Acadian Communities, a program of the Secretariat to Canadian Governmental Affairs of the Government of Quebec, this project consists of creating closer links between the community groups involved in activities such as literacy programs and organized activities for the senior citizens. Other aspects of the project consist of promoting the electronic distribution of information in the communities. The presentation will outline the different aspects of the project, the strategies implemented to reach our objectives, and it will cover the main pitfalls we encountered.
