Comments: American Oyster Catchers are extremely=20
interesting birds=2C and I am surprised that so little has been said about =
them on=20
this list.
As for wind turbines - I=20
believe that the best place for them is on the electric light line that run=
s=20
through the woods from Barrington to the power house near Yarmouth. A place=
=20
could be found I think on high land in the woods=2C far from the nearest ho=
use=2C=20
but close to a woodsroad and a power line.=20
This has been suggested before=2C and I have never heard any=20
criticisms of the location.

Gail: He may have been talking about the American Oyster=20
Catchers that nest there. They are large. Not geese though. We have 'hear=
d'=20
that it is actually too windy on Cape Sable Island for wind turbines. The=
re=20
are wind turbines near by in West Pubnico. Lynne=2C Shelburne County.=20

FYI.=20
We were doing some city birding this evening=20
(Wed.) and a stranger stopped us and asked if we knew large geese like bi=
rds=20
from the Cape Sable Island area? He said he had just spent 10 days in the=
area=20
and saw these large birds. Then he told us a company was looking at wind=
=20
turbines in that area. Perhaps this is already well know=2C but just in c=
ase it=20
is new news to some...
