Aug. 12, 2010 - Very high high tide today in Minas Basin at 3:15 p.m.
(amplitude/height in Blomidon Nat. Soc. Calendar listed at 15.5
metres -- do the math to get feet -- very high and impressive to see
today). Judy Tufts and I independently arrived in Wolfville Harbour
at the same time to check for roosting shorebirds. I didn't get an
accurate count, but my impression was about 12+ willets, 15+ greater
yellowlegs, 1 dowitcher (short-billed?), and 1-2 unidentified peep
(sandpiper, not plover), plus perennial high-tide swimmer, Joan
Lloyd. Again I didn't detect any lesser yellowlegs, but a few could
have been there.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville
