Pat & I saw two gray jays today in a bush area of nature trails, and one of them eyed us as if to say, "got any Halloween treats for us?". In Burns Lake, B.C., we have black-capped chickadees coming to feeders all the time, with a red-breasted nuthatch, and yesterday saw a male flicker with salmon-coloured pink feather-shafts (was formerly called red-shafted flicker, but now is considered a variation of the northern flicker).
