More on Killdeer - I saw two killdeer at Conrad Beach on Jan 18th, and
two on the coastline between West Dover and Polly's Cove yesterday.
There were nine buffleheads in the backwaters at Conrad on the 18th.

Quoting Bob McDonald <bobathome@hfx.eastlink.ca>:

> And there is still at least one Killdeer hanging in at Point
> Pleasant park. It was tending around the small amount of open water
> in a ditch beside the path just past Black Rock Beach. Several
> times dogs scared it up and I spoke to several dog-walkers on this
> trail since they are not supposed to be there (with their dogs) in
> mid-afternoon.
