I just came from the Romans Ave area and saw a grey backed bird sitting by
itself on top of a hedge. I drove by twice and the third time I got out of the car
with the binoculars in hand. Of course it flew off. Didn't seem to mind the car
stopping but I wasn't to get out.
It was grey on the top side, some barring on the wing area and the belly
seemed to be light but with a slight buffy coloration. Beak was very sharp but
not long.
Looking in Sibleys' guide it was the only bird to match that discription.
Is that the mocking bird that I was looking at? Heather
