Sounds like it Heather. It has been eating grape jelly from my backyard for the last few weeks. I live on Aikens Ave, which is the first street off Roman's Ave from Mumford. I think this must be the same mockingbird that has been showing up in my backyard for the past several winters because it knows where to go to find the food right away.

Subject: [NatureNS] northern mockingbird?

I just came from the Romans Ave area and saw a grey backed bird sitting by itself on top of a hedge. I drove by twice and the third time I got out of the car with the binoculars in hand. Of course it flew off. Didn't seem to mind the car stopping but I wasn't to get out.
It was grey on the top side, some barring on the wing area and the belly seemed to be light but with a slight buffy coloration. Beak was very sharp but not long.
Looking in Sibleys' guide it was the only bird to match that discription.
Is that the mocking bird that I was looking at? Heather
