JAN. 27, 2011 - CBC Radio News caught my ear at 4 p.m., with a report
of a MALE ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD at BROWNSDALE?, NEWFOUNDLAND! at a
special feeder. Apparently it first showed up there in August.
Bruce MacTavish reported that some Anna's Hummingbirds every year in
late summer and autumn stray in various directions from the West
Coast, where the species can be found on Xmas Counts as far north as
southwestern British Columbia often. So this bird has indeed strayed
a very long way, and lots of people have gone to see and photograph it.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville -- check out cbc.ca/news for more info'?
