Subject: [NatureNS] NS Winter Bird List=2C and DOWL

5 Feb 2011

I have updated the NS Winter Bird List=2C located at the following URL:

http://tinyurl.com/nswinter

Given the recent harsh weather (with more to come?) I invite you to post ad=
ditions to the DOWL=2C ie=2C the "Depths of Winter List"=2C which comprises=
those species seen during the month of February=2C arguably the month with=
the least welcome weather and the most difficult birding conditions.

I've done a quite check of the species reported to NatureNS and the NS Rare=
Bird Alert=2C and marked the species on the winter list. The current DOW=
L total (which was not done last year) is very low=2C so there are many opp=
ortunities to add to it. Send a message to NatureNS with DOWL in the subj=
ect line if you wish to notify me of additional February species.

Keep in mind that this is very much an "unofficial" list -- it is maintaine=
d simply for the fun of it=2C and to encourage people to get out birding at=
 this time of year.

Good winter birding=2C

Blake
