Those familiar with subject beach may be interested in the following :

Certainly since hurricane Juan, the changes have been spectacular. First a breach occurred just behind the place where the old road ends at the beach.
Soon thereafter a second breach emerged a lot further down the beach. Huge amounts of sand have washed in from the ocean through these two breaches and is filling up the lake behind them, towards the island. The latest big change occurred after the recent winter storms, closing off the "run" at the far end of the beach and the river and lake are now discharging through the 2nd breach ! The most remarkable thing is that the waterflow created a completely new channel all the way from the far end of the beach back to the 2nd breach. Therefore, the 2nd breach cannot be crossed anymore unless one wears very high boots. (or get very cold feet like I did).

Henk Kwindt, Cow Bay, NS.
