 David's link to Mark's cougar report is missing characters, resulting in  >a page not found<  notice.  With a little tweaking, I found the article among several other interesting DNR reports.

http://www.gov.ns.ca/natr/wildlife/conserva/eastern-cougar.asp  goes to the report David McCorquodale was pointing us toward.  It's a very good read.
