All birds are protected unless an open season has been designated for them.
See "http://www.gov.ns.ca/natr/hunt/regulations/default.asp"
Look under 2010 regs for "Other Harvestable Wildlife".

What other birds besides the Bald Eagle are legally fully protected from hunting or collecting here in Nova Scotia or where might I find this information. Have googled 'Protected Birds Of Nova Scotia' but it is somewhat unclear from what I have read.
