Back from the sunny South, an unusually warm winter in Southern Florida.
Put out the feeders yesterday after three months and the chickadees arrived
before I finished filling. Finches and RB Nuthatches an hour or so later.
Spent a couple of days in the Everglades National Park in February and
highly recommend it for getting up close and personal with many alligators and
a large variety of birds. The park is inexpensive, $10 per car for a one
week pass. Lots of places to rent Kayaks and canoes.
We entered near Homestead just South of Miami and particularly like the
"Anhinga trail" a few miles in to the park. Suitable for all ages.
