JUNE 13, 2011 - This morning David Burton (with his wife and dog,
Truffle) found a ridiculously approachable, but apparently healthy,
Am. crow sitting on a rock beside the trail along the dyke just east
and north of Wolfville Harbour and Wharf. Dave was able to walk
home, get his camera, and slowly approach this crow until he got so
close that the crow pecked at his lens and at his camera bag! After
a bit of this, the crow moved a bit along the trail and rocks and
then flew away pretty healthily to land with a bunch of other crows
on the dykelands. I asked Dave if this looked like a young crow, and
he said no. I couldn't offer any insights about this, but someone
else wondered if it could have been raised in captivity or even
rehabilitated in a previous year?
