 Hi All=2C=20
   While checking out a small boggy lake near my house today I was surprise=
d to see three Solitary Sandpipers feeding along the shore. This is a regul=
ar stopover for SOSA and I usually see a few SOSA's there in late August. I=
've never seen them at this location before mid-August before today.=20
    In 2006 around on July 7th=2C while doing MBBA  work=2C I observed a pa=
ir of SOSA in a boggy location in the barrens of the Aspy Bay Wilderness Ar=
ea=3B a couple of miles from this location. There was some discussion at th=
e time as to whether these birds were early migrants or possibly breeding i=
n the area which=2C I think=2C was never resolved.=20




   This observation is a couple of weeks later but still very early for SOS=
A in this area. The birds were calling and I was able to get some adequate =
video of some interesting behavior. The oddest was a bird turning it's head=
 on its side so that one eye pointed skyward and the other to the water. I'=
m not sure what this is all about but it was interesting. All the best.
