Hi All,

There is lots of bird activity in my backyard. And a good number of young birds and a few surprises too.

Hairy & Downey Woodpeckers youngsters appearing at my peanut feeders. Some young Northern Flickers on the ground. Many young Song Sparrows and Chickadees. Grackles galore. The Robins appear to have another brood on the go in the nest they built on a support beam right under our new back deck. This is the second brood this summer being raised there. Am assuming it is the same parents. Very few Starlings (but don't want to say that too loudly).

One, possibly 2 adult male Northern Cardinals have been seen & heard over the past couple of days. AND (though common, I know) several Red-eyed Vireos, catching insects in amongst the leaves in the big tree to the right side of the yard and singing away out there almost all the time. Possibly a nest on the go?

Enjoy the summer, everyone!
