My father seen a Cougar near Pugwash, he was a trapper for years and = caught many Bobcats and Coyotes, he knows his animals intimately. As = Ulli says, we need hard evidence. If I ever seen one I will be looking = for hair, footprints, scat etc. where it was seen, after I try to = capture images of it that is. If you see a Cougar, look over the area = for evidence folks. The councillors were not above some small parties after the youth were = safely in bed and were not always the sharpest at the crack of dawn. Anyway one morning as the light was coming from the east, several = youth came running into our camp saying "There is an elephant in the orchard" Scientifically this should not be so - however when the fog lifted = from my head, sure enough there was an elephant feeding on the apple trees. Pulling the little = trees out with its trunk and eating the foliage, small apples, worms and whatever else was in the = tree. Turned out there was a circus several miles away and it had escaped = for a few hours of freedom. The caretakers soon had it rounded up. After that I tended to believe a lot of stories that perhaps were not = accurate in all details.
