Having = looked in all my bird books, I am still puzzled as to the ID. 5 1/2 inches long, notched tail, finch-like dark beak, back and tail all = brown, no white. Breast and flanks flecked with brown, belly and = undertail white. No eye ring. Small round head with no noticible = markings, throat brown-gray, flecked. Best guess, an immature purple finch... ?? Is there anyone in the Lockeport area who can photograph the little = body? My 2 usual camera people are away.
