As for Willard Boyle, he was not only Canadian, but Nova Scotian.  He =
accomplished his main achievements at the famous Bell Labs (in New =
Jersey).  His higher education was at McGill, but what I cannot help =
noticing is this (from the great Wikipedia): =93He was home schooled by =
his mother until age fourteen.=94
