Hi,

We had a wonderful and related experience yesterday - on the whale-watching
tour off Brier Island, a mother and calf Humpback stayed and played around
the boat for about half an hour, with the calf rolling over, waving its
flippers, slapping the water etc. When we left the pair, everyone on board
clapped, and although I hate to anthropomorphize, the calf then vigorously
slapped the water several times with its tail flukes, as if in response. My
2 and a half year old granddaughter squealed with delight at the whole show.
