Ann Doull had a really birdy day on Big Island. At the Beaver pond, she
saw 8 warbler species including 2 bay-breasted, blackburian, Canada and
Nashville warblers. The bonus bird to add to her 2011 Big Island list was a
red tailed hawk, an uncommon visitor to the island. As well, she had hairy
and downy woodpeckers at the cottage. The west wind must have made a
difference and helped break the lull of no bird activity for days. She was
very pleased with the results.
