We cycled Hiking Trail Road in western Halifax County today (10
September). Here is the location on Google maps.

http://g.co/maps/g2mjg

It was six km mostly uphill into a NW wind blowing 40kph, to the
trailhead parking lot. A slow outward trip, accordingly. The return
trip was a snap, though. There were plenty of autumn flowers,
including Lady's Tresses orchids, but few birds, though a Mourning
Warbler and a family group of Black-and-white Warblers were welcome.
And it was a great day for photography.

I have placed a few photos from our outing here:

Feel free to put a specific name to the goldenrods, asters, and lady's tresses.

Cheers,

Blake
