There were 17 Canada Geese on the (closed) golf course.

A swing around "Back Cove" produced no rarities.even after the
sustained sw winds of recent days (all the way from the U.S. Gulf
Coast, ~40 knots at 850 MB). I bet there are interesting things
somewhere in the province.

There were about 40 Song Sparrows with a sprinkling of Swamp,
White-throated, and two Am. Tree Sparrows. Also a large flock - est.
50-60 - of Mourning Doves was foraging on the dry marsh at the head of
"Back Cove" - scared the life out of me when they took off en masse.

Another interesting sight was of a large, lone Coyote, which looked me
over from a distance and trotted out of sight.

Cheers, Ian

Ian McLaren
