ago. International Companies are by nature opportunistic and predatory, esp=
ecially in tough times. For example, when Abitibi-Bowater went bankrupt rec=
ently they voided the value of current shares, issued a new batch and resum=
ed business as usual.=0A=C2=A0=0A=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0 =C2=A0Will the poor ove=
rburdened NS taxpayer have=C2=A0to buy this same land again in a few years =
to buy time for a yet smaller mill operation ? =0A=C2=A0=0A=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=
=A0 While these industrial giants come & go, traditional logging with oxen =
is profitable and maintains forest integrity=C2=A0(the recent issue of Can.=
Geographic that I can't find; Hiltz in New Ross ?) if one is content=C2=A0=
to work hard for=C2=A0just enough income to=C2=A0scrape by on. Perhaps the =
next $20+ million forestry handout=C2=A0(that we can't afford)=C2=A0should =
be directed to=C2=A0foster truly sustainable primary industry approaches li=
