Hi, all.
I consulted the most recent (?) posting of "Upcoming Night Sky
Highlights" that Blake Maybank always provided for us, dated Jan 8-14.
Sure enough, it must be Venus -- magnitude -4.0, which is very bright.
This posting tells us that Mercury is in the eastern sky at dawn.
