I don't come on here often, but I enjoy hearing about all the adventures =
and sightings
around the province. A short list of birds at our feeders today:

30+ Am. Goldfinches
20+ Pine Siskin's =20
6 pheasants (3 male, 3 female)
20+ Chickadees
Downey Woodpeckers
Hairy Woodpeckers
8-10 Juncos
20+ Mourning Doves
Also our usual variety of Ravens and Crows looking for whatever is =
available.

Also had one very unusual visitor feeding with the doves today on =
cracked corn.
The closest description and photo I could find in Sibley's would be a =
Townsend's
Solitaire. Only saw it this AM and was totally gray with a shorter beak. =
Smaller
than the doves , but seemed about Robin size. Did not see any buff color =
on it,
but also did not see it flying in a direction to see the under wings. I =
presume this
would be a rare sighting here and am open to suggestions as to what else =
it might
have been. Have ruled out catbirds and cowbirds as I have seen many over =
the years.

As an added note my wife and I saw an otter near Georgefield, Hants Co. =
this afternoon
running along one of the brooks in the area. Always a pleasure to see.

Have a great day;
Bob Haimes
