The Downy is going right down the alder branches to the water and the Juncos and Chickadees are searching there as well. The Stone Flies are hatching and providing protein for the birds. A wonderful cycle, Nitrogen from lighting, Maple leaves from the nitrogen, stone flies from the leaves, birds feed on the stone flies and their droppings fertilize the maples. Fish like the stone flies also.
