My Daphne is at the far corner of the garden tucked in to the grape vines on either side and
then a chain link fence. There is a driveway and gravel parking lot on two sides. It is a very
sunny spot and I do have an asphalt parking lot ten feet from it so maybe that makes the
difference. I think this is much too early and worry about frost when those leaves start
emerging. I feel all the sunshine has a contributing factor as the buds looked about to pop
three weeks ago.
Anyone who denies global weather change had better think again as we are seeing it.
Heather
ps Ken, maybe your daphne is in a windy spot but one would think that yours should be
blooming sooner then mine. After all you are almost living in the banana belt of the province.

That is really early, Heather. I was looking at mine today and they aren't even showing any
colour yet here on the South Shore. Is yours near your basement wallby chance?
