Dear All, Mar 20, 2012
After nearly 5 weeks in sick bay, I celebrated recovery and the great
weather by taking a short walk in the North Alton woodlot.

Some unusually uncouth Yahoo had left an array of several hundred cans,
bottles, boxes, wrappers etc scattered near the road end. So my next visit
will be a cleanup one and it would be great to find a name and address.

Going on to the natural world, there were many flies about, especially
on sap-covered stumps of hardwood trees that I had cut last fall. Logically,
they would likely also be present at breaks of live hardwood branches,
weeping cankers etc.

Perhaps those bats that have been seen recently in the daytime are not
sick after all; just taking advantage of an opportunity.

    Yt, Dave Webster, Kentville
