TOday at suppertime as the temperature was nearing 30C I saw an Infant =
Moth (Archieras infans) flying thru my backyard. The earliest i have =
seen this species previously was on April 1, in 1972. One of the =
interesting things about this pretty day flying moth, (often mistaken =
for a butterfly ) is that it does not overwinter in the adult stage like =
most of our early spring butterflies and moths, it in fact has hatched =
from a chrysalis, a testament to the unusually warm weather.
